What is the experience level of this program?

Players should have some experience - this is intended as an intermediate level recreational program. We want players to have the basics of catching, throwing, shooting, cradling and dodging. However, players do not need to have prior experience on a competitive team.

What is the structure of the program?

Players will be placed on different teams every session they're in attendance. Players will do 20 minutes of warm up & skill drills before beginning the games.

Teams will play in 2-3 games per day. Each game will be 2 x 8-minute running halves of 3x3 lacrosse. All players will play in a minimum of 16 games over the 8 sessions.

Will the score be kept? What happens when we win?

Players will earn an "individual score" that will compound after each session. Players will accumulate points based on the following categories: Attendance (5 points), Team Win (3 points), Team Tie (2 points), Team Loss (1 point).

Additional points may be awarded each game by on-field coaches for sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, etc. Players may earn up to 3 "extra" points per session.

The top finishers at the end of the Run & Gun series will receive prizes from the PLL and California Redwoods

What is 3x3 lacrosse?

3x3 lacrosse is played on a small field (about the size of a basketball court) with no goalies, small goals, short sticks, and soft balls (think tennis balls)

This is a low-contact version of the game - no body checks and only light stick checks allowed

Only gear required is a helmet, gloves and a lacrosse stick (short sticks only)

Each field will have a single official ensuring the game is played correctly, and players are substituting on the fly frequently.
